The Cottage Window Café
3 Silverburn Cottages, Leven, Fife
Originally a 19th century dwelling for flax mill workers situated within the beautiful Silverburn Park, the cottage window was transformed in to a serving hatch by park staff in 2018 for passing walkers to enjoy a cuppa on their travels. Trading as a non-profit venture, its popularity has grown steadily into a must visit destination.
With help from staff and volunteers the café has went from strength to strength. Concentrating on home baking was always our mission, a simple and delicious menu with emphasis on quality and fresh baked products made by our own staff utilizing produce from our own cottage garden in the summer. The environment is extremely important to us and we always use compostable cups/lids/trays and containers.
Our customers have become friends and indeed the parks family. The window has become not only a place to stop for a bite to eat, but sometimes more importantly a place to talk and share. The community make us who we are, they help us continue to breathe life into Silverburn Park and for that we are forever grateful.
